However, keep in mind that a majority of the electorate (i.e. "the popular vote”) voted for him, in spite of (for example) him whipping up a mob (he knew to be armed) and directing them to the Capital, to “fight like Hell.” The only reason he wasn’t with them for the assault was he was restrained by his Secret Service detail.

The whole world watched it, many of them live, and yet, a majority of the electorate saw fit to put him back in the Oval Office.

He got more than Harris, but not a majority.the majority voted for someone other than Trump. So yes, he squeaked in like a rat.

in 2024, people were looking back four years when the economy was so much better. “January 6” was a patriotic occasion. The rioters were simply tourists, unfairly prosecuted and convicted.

I fear that given another 10 years, our current president will be lauded in much the same way as Ronald Wilson Reagan. “January 6” will become an official holiday, remembered with "Lexington and Concord."

Because in my thinking, if Trump were actually going to go to the capitol and fight with the mob, that would make him at least have some courage. He could look like a real leader.
