Trump Administration Set to Receive $10 Billion Fee for Brokering TikTok Deal

Investors in social-media platform's U.S. business, including Oracle and Silver Lake, agreed to give the government several multibillion-dollar payments, sources say

The Trump administration is set to receive a roughly $10 billion fee from investors in the recently completed deal (1) to take control of TikTok's U.S. business, delivering it a windfall for keeping the popular social-media app alive in America.

The payment is part of the agreement through which investors friendly with the administration gained control of TikTok's U.S. operations from Chinese parent ByteDance, people familiar with the matter said. It comes in addition to the investments made to create a new entity to run the app in the U.S.

The article should say, the US Gov't is set to receive a $10 billion fee. The money should not go into peoples' pockets. Shouldn't that amount go directly to the US Gov't and be used for government expenses. Is trump going to pocket that money? Isn't that the administrations job to broker deals with companies and governments? I wasn't aware that any monetary gains would be pocketed by individuals.
