After J6, Trump was in a depressed slump of victimhood over losing the election and the coup attempt. He would have stayed at MAL, fuming and occasionally spewing defensive venom to the media if Graham had not encouraged him to make a comeback.

I don't know if it's true or not, but it certainly sounds plausible considering what we DO know and considering his behavior and his sudden change in anti-Trump rhetoric to being one of Trump's biggest supporters and defenders.
