New Mexico approves comprehensive probe of Epstein's Zorro Ranch

Source: Reuters

SANTA FE, Feb 16 (Reuters) - New Mexico lawmakers on Monday passed legislation to launch what they said was the first full investigation into what happened at Zorro Ranch, where the late U.S. sex offender Jeffrey Epstein is accused of trafficking and sexually assaulting girls and women.

A bipartisan committee will seek testimony from survivors of alleged sexual abuse at the ranch, located about 30 miles south of Santa Fe, the state capital. Legislators are also urging local residents to testify.

Epstein died in what was ruled a suicide in a New York jail in 2019 while facing federal sex trafficking charges.

The so-called truth commission, comprising four lawmakers, seeks to identify ranch guests and state officials who may have known what was going on at the 7,600-acre property, or taken part in alleged sexual abuse in its hacienda-style mansion and guest houses.

'Epstien bought that ranch from the former gov before he died.'

Soooo...Bill Richardson?
That tracks, since Virginia Roberts states in her book that Bill was one of the men she was trafficked to.

Good for the investigation, but don't be shocked what they find, is all I'm sayin.

Unlike Gov./Secy. Richardson, I don’t think Gov. King has appeared in the files.

Just keeping us fact-based.

Retired State of New Mexico Environment Department regulator here. I've driven past the entrance to the Zorro Ranch( sorry I don't know it's new name) many times and wondered about its liquid waste discharge permit.

The floor plans that are required for the permit should be on file with the state, unless they've been removed/destroyed.

Maybe find the contractors who wired it for audio and video for the blackmailing. Not sure if Gov. King had a structure already on site and maybe the new owner used those permits. Very possible that Governor Richardson "smoothed" things over. Might be interesting to talk with the actual inspector or regulator who approved it, under oath.

Houses over 3 bedrooms are supposed to have a different permit and subject to greater scrutiny. Have to wonder if any of that happened.
Just wondering, from a jaded regulator.

Decided it was too close to possible investigation, so he bought an island.
And moved his 'fun house' there.

Simple!
