Trump DOJ accidentally exposed Epstein victims' identities in new botched release

Source: Raw Story

January 30, 2026 3:43PM ET

The Trump administration has botched the release of the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking case files to accidentally expose private information about the victims — something that was clearly carved out of disclosure requirements under federal law, and that the administration itself has said it is working hard to avoid doing.

According to MS NOW legal analyst Lisa Rubin in a post on X Friday afternoon, her network's "initial review of documents just produced in response to the Epstein Files Transparency Act indicate that despite a promise (and the obligation) to protect victim-identifying information, the DOJ has revealed the names and other identifying details of known survivors of Jeffrey Epstein."

For example, she wrote, "In at least one case, MS NOW found a driver's license with an unredacted photo among the documents produced today. None of these documents were previously produced in public court filings."

This comes after the Trump administration emphasized in court filings that the reason they had not released all of the files yet, despite it being over a month since the legal deadline to release them all, was that they were exercising due diligence to prevent the leak of private victim-identifying information.

It's ALWAYS the victims whose identity is revealed, NEVER the perpetrators. A 'mistake' would not be so consistent - there would be unintentional identification of BOTH victims and perpetrators if this were an actual mistake. THIS is a flagrant attempt to intimidate witnesses and should be treated as such.

This is intentional so the MAGATs can get to work on the survivors with threats and torment.

These people are evil terrorists.

Of course they left stuff in that they shouldn't have. I wouldn't be surprised if they redacted names/info of Epstein's buddies for their protection, "accidentally," of course. It's what they do.

All DOJ cared about was protecting the billionaire pedos.

I'm thinking that the victims, or most of them, are resigned to being named sooner or later. They are grownup, many have moved away, changed their names, gotten married, etc. Some are even ASKING to be named if that's what it takes to bring out all the dirt on Epstein and his fellow perpetrators.

DoJ can drop the pretense now. Just release the documents, the photos, the videos, the banking transcripts - RELEASE ALL OF IT!

The " victims" are the pedophiles, aren't they? Those are the rich and powerful they are protecting.

Just like everything else it's the opposite of decent and morally right. Just like the J6 are heros to trump.

Probably not the last doxxing of the victims. Why not just publish their current addresses and photos? They will eventually.

They needed to use technology to determine redacting based on the language in the law. Like counting ballots, it would be much more accurate. The primary issue technology would have are photos, misspelling of names and email names, but there are ways to deal with that. Right now, we really don't know what instructions the 500 lawyers looking at the documents are using. I would have a lot more confidence with an automated system.
