Trump complains about Epstein files distracting from his agenda as DOJ comes under fire over limited release

Source: The Independent

Monday 22 December 2025 21:34 EST

President Donald Trump has criticized the release of thousands of documents from cases against Jeffrey Epstein, warning they could “ruin the reputation” of high-profile figures who were “innocently” photographed alongside the convicted sex offender and “deflect” from his administration’s accomplishments.

In his first public remarks since the Department of Justice started to publish thousands of images and heavily redacted materials, the president said the release of images of former President Bill Clinton and others photographed with Epstein is a “terrible thing.”

“You probably have pictures being exposed of other people that innocently met Jeffrey Epstein years ago,” Trump said from his Mar-a-Lago property in Florida. “A lot of people are very angry that pictures are being released of other people that really had nothing to do with Epstein, but they’re in a picture with him because he was at a party, and you ruin the reputation of somebody.”

Growing pressure from members of Congress to release the long-awaited files is merely an attempt to “deflect from the tremendous success” of the Republican Party and the Trump administration, and Republican lawmakers who support the disclosures are “being used,” the president told reporters. The Justice Department failed release all of the files related to Epstein’s cases in its possession despite federal law — signed by Trump — requiring his administration to publicly disclose everything it has by last Friday, December 19.

and the fact that they are trickling it out is something that actually helps Democrats because those on the Committees that have access to the files from the Epsten Estate, have already been doing the drip drip drip already.

It must indicate that it is so bad that it would take ALL of the people they pulled from the investigative agencies to do idiotic "immigration" work, to clear out the movers and shakers and 45 from the files.

I don’t see how a few files would interfere with that.

his "agenda" is destruction and retribution on a massive scale. He makes it sound like he is actually doing something presidential.

Granted to him by the SCrOTUS.

You are correct. His real intention is to kill and maim the American population and eventually the world.

Trump and his fellow incompetent goons grossly mismanaged the whole ‘Epstein thing,’ creating outrage and a controversy easily avoided.

So, some of the documents were redacted in word, and it didn’t take long for someone to figure out that a simple copy / paste removes the black squares. My guess is some ninny at the FBI wasn’t savvy enough to know how to permanently redact, so some slipped through. There may be more, and there may be other techniques, such a precise color filtering, that will uncover the blacks outs. So far 945 pages have been gone through, and here they are

and not using actual "redaction software" or have the add-on modules to do that in Adobe, etc. That type of tech has been out for like 30 years.
