Judge lets Trump's ballroom construction proceed

Source: Politico

A federal judge on Tuesday turned down preservationists’ request to halt President Donald Trump’s $300 million White House ballroom project, concluding that allowing below-ground construction to continue in the coming weeks was unlikely to produce irreparable harm to those opposed to the plan.

U.S. District Judge Richard Leon denied the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s request for a temporary restraining order, but said he would hear arguments early next year about whether to issue a longer-term preliminary injunction against the project.

Leon, a George W. Bush appointee, also said the Trump administration must follow through on a pledge to submit the project to the National Capital Planning Commission by the end of this year. “The court will hold them to that,” Leon said during a packed federal court hearing in Washington. “They’ve got until the end of this month.”

Leon issued the ruling after accepting a classified filing from the government detailing national security concerns about stopping the project. The submission was not made public, but it is publicly known that for decades the Presidential Emergency Operations Center was located beneath the now-demolished East Wing.

Yeah, sure. Dotard will follow through on a "pledge".

The fucker swore an oath on the Constitution yet ignores it every single day.
Yet we're supposed to believe he will destroy the White House and we're supposed to belive he'll do it without the Russians planting devices in the structure in his RIDICULOUS "ballroom" directly above one of the most sensitive national security sites in America.

THIS.
IS.
INSANITY.

Dotard is a Russian asset, plain and simple.
No accountability, no oversite, no responsibility for DESTROYING THE UNITED STATES.

THE SOONER THIS FUCKER DIES THE BETTER FOR ALL OF US.
If we are to survive as a country, this insanity MUST STOP.

Good luck getting the project together by the end of the month. I’m sure another distraction will delay the presentation while construction continues to tear a hole on the historical site.

is them filling any new underground "operations center" (and even the ballroom above) with Russian listening devices.

People might recall the fiasco in the '80s of the "new" U.S. Embassy in Soviet Moscow, planned and under construction since the late '60s at the time, and the concerns. I remember the news stories back then as a fed and the final, exorbitant decision -

Reagan Decides to Raze Bugged Moscow Offices

WASHINGTON — President Reagan has decided that the only way to prevent the KGB secret police from eavesdropping on the U.S. Embassy in Moscow is to tear down the new chancery and rebuild it from the ground up, Administration officials said Wednesday. Reagan reached his decision after several security and engineering studies showed that the partly constructed building is so riddled with sophisticated listening equipment that it could never be safe from Soviet espionage.

The United States and the Soviet Union agreed almost 20 years ago to build new embassies in each other’s capitals.

In the strict reciprocity that governs diplomatic relations between the superpowers, neither embassy can be put into service until both sides are satisfied. As a result, the Soviets have been unable to occupy their new building on Mount Alto in the District of Columbia, even though construction has been finished for years.

The U.S. Embassy complex was built by Soviet workmen using prestressed concrete materials cast in Soviet factories. As the building was nearing completion, U.S. security officials discovered that the concrete castings were honeycombed with microphones. The Administration decided to recommend rebuilding the facility from the ground up after a major Washington consulting firm, BDM, completed a study of the embassy options two months ago.

I guess you didn’t see the video of Trump and his family rolling on the floor laughing and shouting LOSER after you gave your declaration. They especially liked the part that said that the court will hold them to that.

lower courts to get what you want and then failing to obey those rulings and finally running to the MAGA Supreme Court to block the lower courts moving for accountability for the lies, misrepresentations and non-compliance with court orders. It is complete and utter corruption and rot at all of the top levels of all 3 branches of government.

If we are successful in taking the House in the mid-terms the first order of business should be an immediate investigation of the financial corruption and coordination at the SC and a complete freeze of all funding to the SC if there is non-compliance with the investigation. That should be at the Judiciary Committee.

A second investigation should begin immediately at the House Oversight Committee for corruption and coordination involving House and Senate GQP leadership with the crooked SC justices, donors and Executive Branch officials including the President. Likewise any refusal to cooperate should be met with refusal to fund the continuing corruption of the checks and balances at the heart of our Constitution.

If the Senate, Executive Branch and/or the courts bypass the House on freezing the funding of this continued corruption then the States should withhold all taxes to the Federal Government because their representation guaranteed as a bedrock concept of the founding of this government and continuance of taxation thereunder has been nullified.

The States should, either individually or collectively, make it clear that if the Executive Branch attempts to use force against a state in the effort to negate or bypass their right of representation then force will be met with force keeping in mind that the States can raise militias other than the National Guard currently in place.

Subjugation to losing representation by the actions of a corrupt Executive Branch and/or Courts is not Constitutional governance and principle. The actions of a state to protect itself against force being imposed to effect that subjugation and removal of representation is not a rebellion against proper Constitutional governance it is in fact a defense of that very Constitution and the principles thereunder.

Extensive investigations into members of the SCOTUS (notably the 2 most corrupt - Thomas and Alito) were done.

They could simply "retire", 45 pardons them, and then he'll install what would amount to "2 youths" to be on the court for decades, green-lit by Thune.

By having Senate control, we would control the calendar and even if Thomas and Alito retire (and get pardoned), whoever becomes the (D) Majority Leader, can cite Turtle's precedent of "letting the new President decide" and leave those positions unfilled.
