Trump Shills Musk's Tesla Cars Outside White House, Buys One

Source: HuffPost

President Donald Trump paraded Tesla electric vehicles outside the White House on Tuesday in support of “great patriot” Elon Musk.

The billionaire’s car company has seen its share price slump in recent days on the back of fears over the Trump administration’s handling of the economy. Tesla sales are also tanking as would-be buyers balk at Musk’s haphazard slash-and-burn approach to the federal government via his so-called Department of Government Efficiency.

Tesla is doing no better internationally. Its sales in Germany were down 76% in February compared to a year earlier, potentially as a result of Musk appearing to give a Nazi salute at Trump’s inauguration.

-snip-

In an ethically questionable move, Trump appeared to use the office of president — and the iconography of the White House — to give Musk a boost and make good on a promise to buy a Tesla, which retails for roughly $80,000.

bribe that it is. Musk bankrolled trumps stolen election last year, both in money and in technology, so trump gives him the job of killing the U.S. government because Musk hasn't liked it since it helped end Apartheid in his home country. Once everyone saw what was going on, they naturally turned against Musk and his "other businesses." He should have caught a clue when "X" started losing so much money. So, having trashed his Tesla business, and after putting trump in the oval office, Musk is coming to trump with hands out saying "You should help me now!" And, since Musk has the money that trump doesn't have, of course he jumps right on it. Of course, it helps to know you're dealing with a man with dementia, and who can be manipulated as easily as I can peel an orange!

Tue Mar 11, 2025, 09:12 PM
Mar 2025

A photo from a White House event Tuesday captured President Donald Trump with a list of prices for Teslas that were parked on the south lawn of the White House.

Prior to the event, Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social that he wanted to buy one of the company's electric vehicles as a show of support for Elon Musk. At a media event Tuesday afternoon, Trump saddled up to a red Model S.

"That's beautiful," he said, later adding that he would write a check for the car. The Model S retails for about $80,000.

Trump also said he would gift his 17-year-old granddaughter, Kai, a Cybertruck — another Tesla vehicle with a starting price of nearly $80,000.

Attached to a copy of Trump's speech was a handwritten note that included prices for the cars, which read like a sales pitch.

A photographer captured an image of the note, which read in part, "Teslas can be purchased as low as $299/month or $35K."

Wed Mar 12, 2025, 04:49 PM
Mar 2025
But this spectacle on Tuesday, with Elon Musk standing there like Beelzebub in a ballcap, was envelope-pushing taken to its extreme. "You want the future to look like the future," Musk explained. "What kind of truck would Blade Runner drive?" Being a replicant himself, Musk has a natural interest in the answer to that question. But the president is just a terrible pitchman. He's as desperate as one of those guys from Glengarry Glen Ross, talking fast, bragging about his great "imagination," and apparently sending semaphore with his hands while waving around some promotional material Musk had provided him.

https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/politics/a64166203/trump-musk-tesla-show-white-house/

If there were any flunky who'd contradict him without getting fired, they'd remind him that Blade Runner is a dystopia - a pollution-filled hellhole with everyone wanting to get the fuck out if they can afford it.
