UnitedHealthcare confirmed on Wednesday that it is offering some employees voluntary buyouts. UnitedHealthcare is the insurance subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group, and is the largest private health insurer in the United States.
It has been under a spotlight since the fatal shooting of CEO Brian Thompson in New York City on Dec. 4, 2024. Thompson was succeeded by Tim Noel in January.
"This voluntary option is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure our team is best positioned to meet the evolving needs of the people and customers we are honored to serve," a company spokesperson told ABC News.
"We continue to grow our workforce and hire talent based on the needs of our business," their statement said. In its January earnings call, UnitedHealth Group reported record revenues of $400.3 billion in 2024, while saying that it expects revenues of up to $455 billion in 2025.

(54,579 posts)and try to improve their evil system of denying healthcare to millions. They know everybody hates the current healthcare system and the murdering one of the main greedy, sadistic CEOs is proof. Citizens from both parties have been screwed by them and have died and bankrupted by their business practices. Everyone has been fucked by their greedy BS. I can't believe this is what their attempt at "damage control" looks like. They really are incredibly stupid, I mean really, really stupid. Increasing profits by $50 billion in one year is their idea of a fair financial system?!? Yet they offer employee buyouts?!? WTF!
I guess it doesn't matter how many CEOs are killed since they still do not give a shit about people, only more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ being stolen from grandmom's pocketbook going into their private bank accounts.

(7,315 posts)Company I work for did not renew thier PPO contract with them. Employee's were complaing about denials, slow walking required care, etc.
And TSF is probably going to throw us into a recession, which means more layoffs and people/companies without paying for coverage.
