Trump names former Treasury official for key economic post
Stephen Miran, Trump’s choice for chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, served in the first Trump administration.

President-elect Donald Trump said on Sunday that he would nominate Stephen Miran, who previously worked in the Treasury Department, to be chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, which helps to formulate U.S. economic policy.

Miran served as an economic policy adviser at the Treasury Department in the final year of the first Trump presidency. He is now a fellow at the Manhattan Institute and a senior strategist at the investment firm Hudson Bay Capital Management, according to his LinkedIn profile. He was also co-founder of the now-closed investment firm Amberwave Partners.
