Kinzinger has 'absolutely no worries' Trump will try to put him in jail

Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) said he has “absolutely no worries” that President-elect Trump will try to put him in jail.

Trump joined “Meet the Press” moderator Kristen Welker on Sunday for his first sit-down interview since winning the election. He indicated that he would not explicitly order his appointees to go after his political enemies but referenced jailing members who sat on the Jan. 6 select committee, which Kinzinger was part of.

Kinzinger appeared Sunday on CNN, where he was asked if he has concerns about his future under the Trump administration. “No, I have absolutely no worries about this,” he replied. “First off, the executive branch can’t go after the legislative branch because we embarrassed him. That’s not a sin, that’s not against the law.”

Kinzinger noted that most people who testified before the committee were Trump’s fellow Republicans. “So, look, he’s … all butt hurt right now because he was embarrassed. He’s not going to come after us, and I’m not worried about it at all,” Kinzinger said.

But I’m sure he will be targeted and investigated by tfg’s team. I don’t doubt there will be several special prosecutors assigned to investigate all of the people on his list. Which could go on for years.

I bet Trump has been told time and again that he cannot jail his political opponents and he knows it.

Jail is not the point.

Trump’s DOJ can and likely will bring a raft of charges against people. This will require them to hire big-time DC attorneys and run up legal bills in the millions. The charges will be dropped or thrown out of court but, meanwhile, the targets of Trump’s hatred will be bankrupted and embarrassed.

The MAGAts will love it and Trump will sit back and watch his opponents go bankrupt.

There are other ways to punish your enemies than jail.

We are not dealing with normal people - neither Trump nor his associates nor the trash who voted for him are normal. There is in this country, always has been, always will be a powerful current of ignorance and hate and now they are in charge. Don’t believe me? Come on down to rural Virginia or rural Tennessee and live with the Baptists, high school graduates, and MAGAts.

they live here in Texas as well - both in the rural areas and some of the suburbs. We have huge Baptist churches here and imo mostly full of hate.

He has said he is ignoring him. The one thing tfg can’t stand is to be ignored Like a child, he craves attention. Sadly he tries to achieve it with bad behavior.
To change behavior, ignore bad behavior and reward good behavior.
Our country needs to do the same with him and his followers.

for these people being prosecuted for exercising their free speech rights.

He recently spent $44 billion to protect free speech on the Twitter platform. That shows the depth of his commitment to this important Constitutional Right.

You know this patriot who cares so much about this country and its principles will not stand by and watch folks get publicly pilloried for speaking their minds.

Trump had that done to Comey and Andrew McCabe.
Very detailed and time consuming. Can be gruesome.
