UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting latest: NYPD detectives follow leads to Atlanta

Source: ABC News

December 8, 2024, 3:41 AM

NYPD detectives arrived in Atlanta on Saturday following a large number of tips linked to the as-yet unidentified suspect wanted in the Wednesday shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York, sources told ABC News. The Atlanta Police Department confirmed the arrival of the New York team but declined to give more specifics.

The suspect allegedly arrived in New York on Nov. 24 on a Greyhound bus that departed from Atlanta, though it is unclear exactly when he may have boarded. Sources told ABC News he was spotted on board in Washington, D.C.

The masked gunman shot Thompson at point-blank range at 6:44 a.m. on Dec. 4 outside the New York Hilton Midtown, where Thompson's company was holding an investors conference. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch described the attack as "brazen" and "targeted."

Police have learned that the suspect took a taxi to the Port Authority bus facility at 178th Street and boarded a bus out of New York City following the shooting, according to police.

This guy clearly had his wits about him. I seriously doubt he would be hanging around waiting to get caught.

If he had his wits about him, he would have changed the hoodie outfit into something resembling a business suit. But he kept wearing the same hoodie all the way to the Greyhound bus station, which made it easy for the cops to spot him on the surveillance videos.

With a business suit, a wig, and a man's hat, he could have walked right through Manhattan and gone anywhere. The trail would be cold by now.

Any trial will be prosecuted by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg (the same one that went after Trumpf). But just selecting a jury (if the suspect is caught) will take months. In voir dire, the prosecuting attorneys will ask potential jurors if they have had any bad experiences with UHC or any health insurance carrier. If yes, the potential juror will be excused. Selecting an impartial jury will be excruciating because who hasn't been F%#$ed over by our glorious healthcare system?

So, will a jury convict the suspect after he takes the stand and explains why he did it?

Murderous, bank-robbing Bonnie and Clyde were idolized in 1930s Depression Era America.

When a wealthy oligarch is murdered in the US, spare no expense.

Maybe the USG can re-direct a satellite to help find the suspect.

I have a feeling the international relations might come to new lows for the US.

Would they be doing this for any schmuck that had been shot at the same place and time?

If you find him, you find him. If you don't, you don't. No special attention required.

I hope they never catch him.

I have had enough of being abused by oligarchs.
