HUNTSVILLE, Ala. Alabama police say a dispute over crab legs at a dinner buffet ended in a brawl that left two people facing misdemeanor charges.
Huntsville police officer Gerald Johnson says he was eating at the Meteor Buffet restaurant when a fight broke out.
Johnson tells WHNT-TV that diners were using service tongs like fencing swords and plates were shattering, and a woman was beating a man. Johnson says diners had been waiting in line for crab legs for more than 10 minutes, and they lost their tempers once the food came out.
The station reports Chequita Jenkins is charged with assaulting John Chapman, who suffered a cut on his head. Chapman is charged with disorderly conduct.
Court records arent available to show whether either person has a lawyer.

(18,052 posts)It about bankrupted Red Lobster. Folks eat really small portions for the days leading up to the feast and exercise like crazy. Can do a lot of damage by the 4th trip to the buffet.

Red Lobster's tactical error was underestimating just how many times customers would request another crab plate during a single visit. "It wasn't the second helping [of crab], it was the third that hurt, said Joe Lee, CEO of parent company Darden Restaurants, on a call with investors. "And the fourth," said Red Lobster president Dick Rivera.

(15,632 posts)It was too much work getting the meat out. I'm a lazy eater and feel that if I'm paying for a meal, it ought to be relatively easy to eat.
Also the reason I don't fondue. I get to pay to cook my own food?

Crack the legs just right you can pull the entire meat out easily enough.
