The recent Alabama law prohibiting "crossover voting" in primary runoffs - voting in one party's primary and then switching to vote in the other party's runoff - just hit a weird bump in the road.
State Rep. John Knight, D-Montgomery, got a surprise when he went to vote in the Democratic runoff at Alabama State University today.
Knight, who is in a runoff with Sen. David Burkette for the Democratic nomination in Senate District 26, was told he could not vote in the Democratic runoff because he had voted in the Republican primary on June 5.
"Which is crazy," Knight said. "I was a candidate."
Knight said the chief inspector at the ASU polling place said other voters had experienced the same mix-up.

Secretary of State confirms Rep. John Knight's voting record 'altered'
Rep. John Knight's voting record was changed to show the Democratic Senate candidate voted Republican in the June 5 primary, according to Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill.
"Apparently thats what happened," Merrill said when asked if Knight's record was changed. "At some point it had to be altered because he was shown as a Republican. I can assure you having served with John Knight in the Legislature that hes not a Republican. ... We'll find out why it happened."

As long as Democrats insist on being nice and going along to get along, these things will keep happening and the Pukes will get away with them.
