People were highly critical of his "party" for the people. A bunch of uncouth rednecks roaming the grounds of the White House. The White House was not the place for such events.
But, Trump has exceeded Jackson in his degradation of the White House. Jackson thumbed his nose at the Big Banks and the Supreme Court, just as Trump has done.
However, from my read of history, Jackson was not as bad as Trump because he didn't have the means or technology to do so. Otherwise, they would have been peas in a pod.

(26,784 posts)It's all an act. He really wants to be seen as a genius oligarch and be championed by the educated, sophisticated, and classy.
Instead, those people make fun of him and he's loved by the very people he cannot stand.
This UFC was just bullshit for the MAGA masses, but he hates them.
