Some areas might get hit hard, others not much at all. I've lived in the area all my life and when thunderstorms roar through, you never know for certain where they will hit hardest.

Some hefty storms heading his way, and that open-sided pavilion isn't going to bring much relief.

I'm hoping MSNOW or CNN will be doing some updates throughout the night so we can get a first-hand view of Mommy Nature's birthday gift. From what I've seen, only streaming is available - no general broadcast of events. DAMN...the one time I'd want to see him.

ETA: If rain disturbed his Welker interview, can you imagine his reaction tonight?

but I may have misunderstood since I was only half listening. Does anyone know if that's true? It wouldn't surprise me because if nothing else, trump cares about his hair.

we paid for it. All those private sites like inaccuweather take what we paid for, put lipstick on it, and sell it back to us. But WE built the radars, launched the balloons, and sent up the satellites. Then the for-profit privatizers get the data free.

NWS provides forecasts and timely data, plus the official watches and warnings, for the entire USA.

For DC forecasts: https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?x=245&y=101&site=lwx&zmx=&zmy=&map_x=245&map_y=101]

The DC local radar: https://radar.weather.gov/station/klwx/standard]

Unfortunately, it looks like the worst weather will be north and south of DC. There's a dry alley between. They'll be saying it's the Hand Of God : (
