I can't help but wonder if John McCain were still alive,

would he veer towards George Conway and entirely denounce Trump, or would he begrudgingly join Lindsay Graham, or would he be a "Maverick" and do his own thing?

He would have been right there with George Conway in terms of his counter to Trump--even if not going so far as to become a Democrat. I may have had my issues with McCain, but he was never the unprincipled man that Lindsey has shown himself to be--over and over and over.

YMMV, but I have no doubt that he would not be a Trump sycophant, even if he tried to remain an "R."

I didn't always agree with McCain but I know there is no way in HELL he'd be sucking off Trump like so much of the GOP now - no INDEED.

Unlike his jackass daughter, who he would probably disown, if he were still alive. He and Trump were going at each other for years, He hated Trump's immigration stance, and I'm sure he'd be horrified by what's going on now.

He would have won the general election, of that I'm sure, and there is no hole on this planet where McCain wouldn't have tracked Osama bin Laden down in weeks. No invasion of Afghanistan or Iraq, the country still running balanced budgets, and absolutely no Donald Trump in the White House ... because it's likely Barack Obama wouldn't have run for President until 2016, or 2020.

No botched federal response to hurricane Katrina ... I could go on. John McCain was wrong about a great many things (he was a Republican, after all) but he was a man with class and still as sharp as a razor in 2000.
