CA-37: Gay SoCal businessman Lombardo (D) seeks House seat
Gay Democratic Los Angeles U.S. House candidate Todd Lombardo is feeling optimistic about his chances in next weeks primary. He is among the seven people challenging Congressmember Sydney Kamlager-Dove (D-Los Angeles) for her 37th House District seat.
The safe blue congressional district covers Culver City, part of Downtown Los Angeles, and several neighborhoods southeast of it. The top two finishers in the June 2 contest will move on to the November 3 ballot.
Lombardo, 52, is basing his confidence on making it to the fall race due to the fact hes the only one of those challenging the incumbent to have raised any considerable money to date he reported $64,599 in donations as of May 13 plus $20,100 he loaned his campaign and has talked to thousands of voters in the district about his candidacy. Hes taken a leave of absence from leading his firm SUPR that consults with businesses on their branding and marketing to focus on mounting his first bid for elected office.
Based on the data I have
I feel confident we have done a great job of securing that spot, Lombardo told the Bay Area Reporter when asked about his advancing out of the June 2 primary in second place.
