“When asked what the worst thing is about Republicans, the most common response among Americans is President Donald Trump or loyalty to him, while the most common response about Democrats is that they are weak and don’t stand up against Trump or for what’s right,” according to an ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll.

television/social media/town halls in the world won't change anything unless you have the votes to do it. This always happens. Somehow, it's the Democrats fault because they aren't stopping it from happening. Then the same person pouts and doesn't go to the polls and allows a Republican to be elected.

We need to get the message out about court challenges to Trump executive orders and policies and the wins we have had. Also, get the word out about bad court rulings and how we can fix it when we have power in Congress.

We are responsible for their behavior in addition to ours own.

That is the American electorate for you. Demand efforts that they don't actually empower with.

that politics is not about policies, it's about emotions. That's what motivates people, not statistics or policy tweaks. We're still mostly primates.

Republicans chose fear and rage. They're tapping a century of research and experience on how to capture countries and overthrow governments. Fortunately, it doesn't always work.

There was a great post a few years ago about the main reasons why 1/3 of USians don't vote. I should have bookmarked it.

a dislike of Trump, his policies, and his enablers. So there is hope: Trump is deeply unpopular (and secretly worried about what that means for the midterms). What they want from Democrats is what we came here to do: to fight fascism and stop Trump’s takeover and broader agenda.

The poll should hearten any Democrat who might have been hesitant to stand up to Trump. It’s time to take the gloves off and counter these cretins at every opportunity.

Members of Congress can start by showing up unannounced at ICE holding facilities for a duly authorized inspection, and reporting to us what they see. A few have done this, but every single one of them should.

The ones who have the facts and the mouth appear on MS-NOW, not in the Oval Office, face-to-face.

I had a father whose personality resembled Trump's. My siblings and my family were subservient to him. I was a teen and mouthed off to him. And I caught holy hell from him. Didn't change things. Didn't make him wrong and humbled. It emboldened him.

Some folks like Trump, it's a waste of time to confront them, at least in person and in the same room.
