Christina Applegate has reportedly been hospitalized amid her ongoing battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a disease wherein the immune system attacks the protective layer around the nerves, leading to incredibly painful symptoms.
The 54-year-old, who announced her diagnosis to the world in 2021, was reportedly admitted to hospital in late March, according to TMZ. Christina's representative shared a statement in the wake of the news, which read: "I have no comment on whether she is in the hospital or what her medical treatments are."
"She's had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast," they concluded. It is unclear if Christina was hospitalized for reasons relating to her MS.
Her MeSsy podcast co-host, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, shared on March 31 that their podcast would be going on a brief hiatus as they were "both busy with our books coming out". Christina released her memoir, You With the Sad Eyes, on March 3.

Didn't know they both had it. A woman from my neighborhood that I grew up with died from it.
My sympathies.

(93,740 posts)In January 2016, Sigler revealed that she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) when she was 20 years old.[41] In 2000, while filming Campfire Stories in Hamburg, New Jersey, Sigler was paralyzed from the waist down for several days. This symptom turned out to be related to multiple sclerosis, but it was misdiagnosed as Lyme disease at the time.[42][43] In December 2023, Novartis hired Sigler to star in a TV commercial for their multiple sclerosis drug Kesimpta.[44] In January 2026, Sigler would notably show her real life MS condition to a television audience while playing a doctor with MS during a guest appearance on Grey's Anatomy, with Sigler noting in an interview with People that the guest appearance made her "not feeling like I have to hide anything about my physicality" and that it "allowed me to do my best work."[24][45] On January 1, 2026 Sigler was shown in an video she posted on her Instagram page to now be using a mobility scooter.[46][47]

(4,629 posts)It may have been the Emmys. She got a standing ovation when she came out. Unfortunately I missed most of it because I had something in my eye.
A friend co-wrote a movie about the Wonderland murders ("Wonderland" ) and Applegate lobbied hard for her part in the movie because she grew up on that street in the Hollywood Hills when everything went down.
Her podcast partner Ms. Sigler has done commercials for an MS pharm product.
