The people in that film were dumb because society just gave up on education and basically let AI do everything. But most of them actually meant well. They wanted to help and do the right thing they just didn’t know how.

No such altruism exists in the GOP controlling all the federal government now. They are every bit as stupid but also complete sociopaths and grifters. All of them.

but they weren't evil and greedy. Truly, this is much worse.

... on the show, Will and Grace, their wacky neighbor had a schtick he called "Just Jack". Might this incarnation of "Just Jack" be Sean Hayes, who played that wacky neighbor?
