Bolton thinks Trump will "try to have it both ways tonight."

One of Trump's former national security advisors made a staggering prediction about the president's latest threat to destroy Iran's "civilization" if a deal to end the war is not reached.

On Tuesday morning, Trump posted on Truth Social that a "whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again" if Iran does not agree to a deal to end the war. The threat follows Trump's previous statement that he plans to attack civilian infrastructure like bridges and water systems.

John Bolton, Trump's former national security advisor during his first term, discussed Trump's threat with CNN's Jake Tapper on "The Lead." Bolton offered a staggering prediction for what Trump will do if Iran doesn't agree to a deal by Tuesday night's deadline.

"I have no idea [what he will do]. I'm not even sure Trump knows," Bolton said. "I'll hazard a guess for what it's worth. I think he will order a strike. It'll be big, but not what he's been talking about. He'll say, 'This is just a taste of what I could have done, but out of the goodness of my heart, I didn't destroy Iran's civilization. They've got seven more days.' He's going to try and have it both ways, basically."

Huff and puff and scare the crap out of people, then hope he's weakened them enough to get a favorable "deal."

I'm so confused at this point though. What "deal" is Trump after? What are his demands? I can't even remember

I bet he's just laughing his ass off at all of us, thinking he's really pulling one over manipulating the markets

He might go the nuclear option but probably not yet. If they keep fighting back and taunting him I could see it getting there though.

Right after placing a sizable wager.

That's the depth of his care for anything or anyone. He's a psychopath for those who have finally tuned in... All eyes are on him and he walks away with money to do it all again.
