I know bringing up something from 2016 may seem quaint or moot, but in light of today's events

I just want to take a moment to address every single journalist, editor, pundit, or politician who tut-tutted or gasped or got the vapors and invoked the Goldwater rule to shut down a conversation or silence an analysis when people including qualified professionals commented on Tr*mp's psychological profile/state and how it related to his unfitness to be POTUS during the 2016 election, both primary and general:

Fuck you!

Not only was your position specious at the time (i.e. you were mis-applying said rule), but now we have a real world illustration of why your being wrong was so dangerous.

I hope nobody ever forgets a) your wrongness on the merits and b) that in your wrongness you attempted to shut down a crucial examination of a great danger to human civilization -- a danger now in full bloom.

To reiterate:
1) You were full of shit about the Goldwater rule.
2) You helped make this happen.
3) Fuck you very much for that.
