Not that I'm asking much.

We need a "Left Hand of God"

A Humphrey Bogart (SPOILER) passing a a priest who twice gambles everything and wins for the local villagers and parishes.

a "Father O'Shea, who is saintly enough to turn aside a powerful warlord."

Here's just a few:
https://english.sunonews.tv/world/middle-east/us-politicians-strongly-condemn-trumps-controversial-post-call-him-unstable/1775450469-15051

Leading US Senator Bernie Sanders described Trump’s threats as “dangerous,” expressing concern over what he termed reckless decision-making. Sanders urged the US Congress to take immediate steps to prevent further escalation and avoid a potential conflict.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer also lashed out at Trump, accusing him of behaving irresponsibly on social media. He warned that the president’s statements resemble open threats of war crimes and could damage US credibility on the global stage.

Adding to the criticism, Senator Chris Murphy called for invoking the Twenty-Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which allows the vice president to assume presidential powers if the president is deemed unfit to perform duties.

Republican leader Marjorie Taylor Greene, once considered a close ally of Trump, has also broken ranks and criticized him sharply. She stated that Trump has “gone crazy” and warned that his policies are putting both American citizens and civilians around the world at risk.

Virginia Senator Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the upper chamber’s intelligence committee, panned Trump’s comments as “rantings” and suggested the president hadn’t settled yet on a course of action ahead of his Tuesday night deadline.

Rhode Island Representative Seth Magaziner said following the president’s post that Congress should reconvene and “immediately” vote to end the war against Iran. “The president’s enablers must wake up to the fact that he is becoming increasingly erratic and dangerous, and our country needs new leadership.”

And Michigan Representative Rashida Tlaib said lawmakers should invoke the 25th Amendment — a constitutional failsafe allowing Congress to remove a president deemed unfit for office — against Trump.

Speaking to Just the News, Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson said he was “hoping and praying” the president’s rhetoric about targeting civilian infrastructure was “bluster.” “I do not want to see us start blowing up civilian infrastructure,” said Johnson, a staunch supporter of the administration. “We are not at war with the Iranian people — we are trying to liberate them.”

https://www.newsweek.com/trumps-easter-post-condemned-utter-disdain-religion-11789435
The Interfaith Alliance, a coalition of religious leaders and advocates, condemned the message directly. "Trump's profane and violent rant on Christianity's holiest day while insulting Muslims around the world shows this administration's utter disdain for religion," the group said Sunday. "We condemn it while wishing all who celebrate Easter a joyful holiday."

The Council on American-Islamic Relations condemned Trump's language in a separate statement. The organization said his "mocking of Islam and his threats to attack civilian infrastructure" were reckless and dangerous. CAIR said the casual use of "Praise be to Allah" in the context of violent threats reflected contempt for Muslims and their beliefs.

Representative Melanie Stansbury of New Mexico called for immediate action, urging the invocation of the 25th Amendment, which allows the vice president and a majority of Cabinet members to remove a sitting president deemed unfit for office.

Anthony Scaramucci, Trump's former White House Communications director, wrote on X, "It was at this point that our Founders thought the best thing to do would be to remove a mad man who has the executive office. It became more formalized with the 25th amendment, but more people now should be calling for this man's removal."

https://jeffries.house.gov/2026/04/07/house-democratic-leadership-statement-on-donald-trumps-threat-to-kill-a-whole-civilization/
Today, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Democratic Whip Katherine Clark, Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar, Democratic Caucus Vice Chair Ted Lieu, Assistant Democratic Leader Joe Neguse and DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene released the following statement:

Donald Trump is completely unhinged. His statement threatening to eradicate an entire civilization shocks the conscience and requires a decisive congressional response. The House must come back into session immediately and vote to end this reckless war of choice in the Middle East before Donald Trump plunges our country into World War III.

For years, Republicans have enabled and excused Donald Trump’s deeply dangerous and extreme behavior. Enough is enough. Our brave men and women in uniform have been put into harm’s way in the Middle East. Over a dozen have already been killed and hundreds injured. Gas prices are skyrocketing, the cost of living in America is out of control and billions of taxpayer dollars are being wasted on a reckless war of choice.

It’s time for House Republicans to put patriotic duty over party loyalty and join Democrats in stopping this madness.

https://www.foreign.senate.gov/press/dem/release/ranking-members-shaheen-coons-schumer-reed-schatz-condemn-president-trumps-threat-against-iranian-civilization
WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Chris Coons (D-DE), Ranking Member of the Senate Appropriations Committee Subcommittee on Defense, Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Senate Democratic Leader, Jack Reed (D-RI), Ranking Member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and Brian Schatz (D-HI), Ranking Member of the Senate Appropriations Committee Subcommittee on State and Foreign Operations, issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s threat that “a whole civilization will die tonight” in Iran:

“We speak today with one voice and one purpose: to condemn President Trump's threat to extinguish an entire civilization.

“This is not strength. Intentionally destroying the power, water or basic infrastructure upon which tens of millions of civilians depend to punish the very civilians who suffer at the hands of the Iranian regime would constitute a war crime, a betrayal of the values this nation was founded on and a moral failure. It’s unconscionable to threaten the lives of so many people – grandparents, children, families – simply because they were born in Iran. President Trump’s reckless threat makes Americans less safe, further destabilizes our nation and economy and puts at greater risk U.S. service members. It only serves to push us further away from the only viable solution to this war: a diplomatic one. The president must not follow through on this threat.”

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer reportedly called the president “an extremely sick person” in reaction to his warning that “a whole civilization will die tonight.” (WSJ)

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries also criticized the rhetoric, urging Republicans to oppose what they see as “madness. (NBC News)

Representative Paul Tonko (D-NY) issued a press release this morning advocating for impeachment of President Trump over what he called violent rhetoric directed at Iran. (Dallas Morning News)

If I promised information and didn't show that information, then OK, but I didn't. I stated an opinion and provided an argument for my opinion. This thread promised a list and didn't deliver one. Not because there weren't people saying what the OP was suggesting nobody was saying, but because the proposition was incorrect. There were, indeed, people saying what he suggested nobody was saying.

As for being concerned, I'm also concerned. However, that concern is somewhat balanced by Trump's regular overstatement of everything. And that was the point of my thread.

But, hey, that's OK. You can post whatever you wish, too. Then, I'll respond to it.
