He'll be on a plane to Venezuela as soon as noon on January 20, 2029.
He wants all the oil for himself, and he wants to be the leader of Venezuela so that when the US seeks to have him extradited back to the US to face trial for his crimes here, he can just say no.

(23,316 posts)Trump isnt going to flee the US- his ego wont let him, and his real estate and assets would be seized by either his creditors or the government if he did.

(7,213 posts)Words to the effect that: After I'm done with this, I'll go to Venezuela and be elected President there. I'm polling higher than any politician there. I'll have to learn Spanish but that will be very easy. Language is easy for me.
It was reported that he was "joking" about this. I'd bet the farm he wasn't joking. Venezuela has more oil than Saudi Arabia....Trump can't resist the idea of having that as his own.
He never joked. He just says the outrageous things he's thinking about and only says it joking when he gets caught.

If people let Trump keep yanking their chains, they'll exhaust themselves. And meanwhile, he'll be up to his latest shenanigans in real life.

But St. Peter could teach him Spanish, starting with "Mi casa no es tu casa."

(23,372 posts)Milei shares a lawyer (with power-of-attorney) with the country's top convicted narco, Fred Machado.
The only real problem? With his approval (like Trump's) in the 30s and falling, Milei will probably lose re-election in '27.
And the top contender to replace him? A left-wing Jew, Axel Kicillof - the "Bernie Sanders of the Pampas."

Stay tuned...

(1,832 posts)The law doesn't allow him to run, he wouldn't have the US military to back him, and he can't even pretend to speak the language and the country is just going to vote for him?
Trump spews a lot of nonsense that has zero bearing on reality.
If he were to flee, Venezuela would be pretty low on the list.
Russia, Argentina, Hungary if Orban maintains control, Belarus, maybe Saudi Arabia. Not many places would want him.
