Tonight, one of "us" will circle around the dark sinde of the moon
Every New Year's, a diverse group of people gather in Charleston, SC for a sort of "meeting-of-the-minds" group called "Renaissance Weekend." The idea behind it is to bring together people from all differenct walks of life who have accomplished "something," and have stories and knowledge to impart to others. Not a "TED Talks" king of thing, but where everyone mingles with everyone else. We have had MANY astronauts over the years, such as Michael Lopez, Joan Higginbotham, Buzz Aldrin, Bill Nelson, Scott Kelly, Mark Kelly, and Victor "Ike" Glover who is leading the current mission.
Since the next time I'll be attending will be the one starting this Decenber 28th, I have no hope of getting any "inside" info until December 29th, and then only if Glover attends again. Maybe this year, he'll have somethign better to do, but maybe I'll get lucky, and he'll show up with some incredibly cool photos and even cooler "off the record" stories.
No congratulations until he gets his vehicle back safely, but here's hoping!
