There is incentive for Iran not to notify anyone if they have captured our airman...

Instead of a propaganda coup, if they capture them and not tell anybody, the US continues the useless and dangerus rescue operations.

Would not be the first time an enemy used our "no one left behind" strategy against us.

For now, search and rescue ops must continue, I know.

be made in the event POWs are taken. But, again, don't know if Iran was ever a Convention signat and we now find it an inconvenience.

Probably a previous edition of their gov't, like back in the Shah days.

But with Kegsbreath announcing no quarter, I'd say all bets are off.

if the air man is alive or dead. So if they acquired the remains of a deceased airman they could also purposely keep it quiet and accomplish the same thing.
