I don’t mean just on investigations. In my view there will be a lot of lawmaking required to roll back Trump’s destruction nd to make sure no one can do it again in the future. Spending two years trying to get back to the good old days would be a disaster.

Then, we will need 2/3 to override Veto, in short they wont be able to pass anything of consequence, best they can do is investigate, slow down Trump and hold until we get a new presidency.

Lawmaking is their job. Just because their work product won’t succeed doesn’t mean the only thing they can do is investigate. Writing progressive laws and having messy, noisy fights with Republicans and Trump is the most effective way to show Americans that Democrats are on their side.

You know what I fear? Hearing Schumer or Jeffries say something like, “we just have to wait to see the outcome of our investigations and then we will…” I’d be super disappointed if they sit on their hands.

I am sure the house committees will launch investigations but they are limited as to what they can do. For example, they can not issue search warrants or ask for one.

In a normally functioning government, they refer whatever they find to the justice department for investigation. Somehow, I do not think the justice department will collaborate.

Still, congressional action will be crucial. This is what gave us all the material needed for the January 6th investigation, which ultimately was bungled by Garland's inaction.
