So, does a new A.G. need a confirmation hearing?

There ought to be some interesting questions asked.

There MUST be!

If you wish to testify, please raise your hand.

If they didn’t, it would be easy to appoint a reasonable person and then replace them with a nutcase. This administration with this Senate makes that process superfluous.

By some ass-kicking senators, rather than ass-kissing press.

Until midterms, it's all a political show, and it's quite arguable that the unsuccessful impeachments brought enough dirt to attention to kick Orange Julius out of office.

I heard on MS NOW that trump is going to make changes now because they are not sure that the GOP will control the Senate after the midterms

He was already confirmed by the Senate for the EPA job. They can make him AG, and that would not require another confirmation.

A cabinet member who has been confirmed can be swapped into another cabinet-level position with no further confirmation.

Given everything Bondi did, consider the wealth of questions that could be asked. As they happened, the typical hypothetical excuse doesn't work. Consider everything that could be asked about the Epstein files.... Especially if he nominates Blanche. Someone earlier on MSNOW mentioned that he at least had a credible reputation before Trump. However, there are MANY questions about his interview with Maxwell and he might have been the one to sign off on her special treatment.
