Trump Tells Aides He's Willing to End War Without Reopening Hormuz

WASHINGTON—President Trump told aides he’s willing to end the U.S. military campaign against Iran even if the Strait of Hormuz remains largely closed, administration officials said, likely extending Tehran’s firm grip on the waterway and leaving a complex operation to reopen it for a later date.

In recent days, Trump and his aides assessed that a mission to pry open the chokepoint would push the conflict beyond his timeline of four to six weeks. He decided that the U.S. should achieve its main goals of hobbling Iran’s navy and its missile stocks and wind down current hostilities while pressuring Tehran diplomatically to resume the free flow of trade. If that fails, Washington would press allies in Europe and the Gulf to take the lead on reopening the strait, the officials said.

and spending $2 billion a day, what did he accomplish? When he took office, Hormuz was open and functioning. It closed due to his ordering an attack on Iran. He needs to be impeached.

are in so over their head. With gas prices soaring, the choke-hold on the Strait of Hormuz, inflation, etc., his "advisors" see the writing on the wall. Now to try and figure out how they are going bail out and still look like they accomplished something. That's probably more what their "talks" consist of, rather than "talking" to Iran.

He’s bored. Nobody is really talking about him. It’s all about oil, and the price of oil, and the market, and the various countries in the ME, and only some of the talk actually involves him. The only people who are really excited about his war are Lindsey G. and Whiskey Pete. He wasn’t expecting MAGA to get cold feet. He wasn’t expecting a recession or gas to climb straight up like a hobby rocket in the engineering department at MIT. Also, he’s realized by now that his buddy Bibi led him by the nose into quicksand.

This “strategy” allows him to get even for that by screwing Bibi over, and blame former presidents of the US and nations of the ME for not “taking care of the problem sooner.”
