(18,517 posts)ICE goon cowards all want to look like genuine SEAL Team badasses. Special operations personnel are allowed to grow full, thick neckbeards when deployed in combat zones, so they can blend in with local populations and build rapport with tribal leaders. I'm seeing this neckbeard fashion statement everywhere these days, typically it's a MAGA manosphere imbecile wearing a ball cap, camouflge cargo pants and driving a lifted truck.

As a woman I would be turned off, maybe they want to be more attractive to men?

Those beards in the 1800's were gross and ugly !

(320 posts)It must be nice for these ICE goons to collect a full federal paycheck for doing next to nothing. Trump's make-work project for ICE becomes little more than theatrics with a pretended concern about airport congestion. And the actors get paid to play (with) themselves in Trump's version of Airport Apprentice.

A TSA officer says she and other agency employees feel forgotten during the partial government shutdown, with morale at an all‑time low.
We feel like we are being completely overlooked, Jill DeJanovich told NewsNations Anna Kooiman. Every other agency has been funded except for the Department of Homeland Security. Were the only ones being singled out three times in a row. We feel like no ones paying attention to what were going through.
DeJanovich, who works at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, said she had to call out of work in the early weeks of the shutdown because she couldnt afford gas to get there. (wtf?)
We just cannot afford to keep coming to work with no money, she said.
Since then, she said she and other TSA employees have received gas cards through community outreach efforts, which have helped them commute. She added that many are still financially recovering from the last shutdown in October. (shameful)
Our creditors arent as willing to work with us as they were before, DeJanovich said. So this time we are literally out on our own, trying to just figure it out.
I feel so bad for her. I read about govt employees (I think that was also the TSA) working two jobs last October.

(41,496 posts)These gov't shutdowns have always operated on that basis. Essential employees will be paid as soon as the shutdown is over.
