The longer this goes on, Iran could slowly be seen by more and more of the world as the good guys

As crazy as that it to think about, despite the Iranian regime literally being some of the very worst actors on the global stage, the worlds collective hatred of IQ47 (and his Billionaire and GQP cronies) could actually actually end up outweighing their hatred of Iran.

As the fight goes on, they could come to be seen as plucky underdogs, the David to the US's Goliath. The USA could eventually occupy the position of Russia in their fight against Ukraine, where basically nobody think's they're the country who's in the right (obviously Ukraine is WAY more in the right than Iran will ever be, to be clear)

This will happen even faster if the world's economy significantly crashes, as I think it well might if the strait remains restricted for too much longer. 20% of the world's exports being shut off is a LOT. There's buffers for now, many countries have strategic reserves and such, but those won't last forever.

Imagine being US POTUS who's such an utterly despised jackass that the vicious scumbag mullahs in Iran look better than the USA by comparison in the eyes of a significant part of the world.

How much does one person have to SUCK at their job in order to accomplish such an ignoble feat?

Mullahs don't rape babies or bomb their schools, a double tap no less, so there's NO mistaking who we are ,

From 1953 Iranians have been put upon with OUR bullshit overthrowing their government for OIL.

Our actions speak so loudly the world can't hear our our heartfelt denials

Didn't our predator president greet the dead with a "white" hat ?

You can oppose the war and be against what our side is doing without trying to justify or make excuses for them.

The Iranian govt is not good and there is a reason many people inside and outside Iran oppose it.

Of their own citizens for protesting isn't a bad thing or has it been forgotten/ forgiven? Using cluster munitions against cities is acceptable?

There's no real chance of this happening. It's more of everyone sucks here in terms of the governments involved.

is if the Iranian armed forces decide they've had enough with the mullahs, break with them, and join ranks with Iran's dissident civilian society to overthrow the government.

Same situtation as Ceausescu in Romania and Quaddafi in Libya.

Until then everything else is just wishful thinking.

And even the need for mutual nuclear deterrence can at least be "understood"...

And when pure aggression, greed and land-resource theft are exposed so nakedly, unashamedly...

The world starts to turn on its head and away from the orthodoxy the U.S. - and Israel - are the "good guys".

Trump did that.

I know there is some slight movement that way happening.

But, pretty much everyone with any basic common sense knows that the Iranian people are by and large decent, but that the autocrats have a complete power hold over them. So, you feel for the average Iranian, but as long as the current or like minded Supreme Leader, Council and IRGC remain in control, they aren't "the good guys." And, that they are the primary power center for middle east terrorism.

At the same time, pretty much everyone with any basic common sense knows they have increasingly tamped back the terrorism and most of their bad acts are not internal. So, while detestable, not unlike many other autocratic regimes, there was absolutely no reason to kick this disaster off.

But, there is little doubt that with each and every day this spins out, the US and Israel will absolutely be seen in an increasingly lesser light.

Anyone with any basic common sense knows that the current US admin blew up the nuclear deal that was helping to move Iran into a more moderate position. And, that this admin is equally incompetent and deranged. And, that while Israel does have security issues at hand, this extends WELL past that with other non security related ambitions, and also is led by a corrupt, deranged leadership.

Its an annoyance when two supposed beacons of democracy ceed to tyrannical leaders, but when their actions throw the entire planet into chaos ...

But most of the world's sees Iranian attacks on their neighbors and remembers how they massacred protesters.

Being unjustly attacked doesn't make them "good".

We’ll see where things stand as the economic impacts become more clear. Most people are motivated by their own self interests, usually money.
