It's evening here, the sun has almost set

And as a senior citizen, I do not know how I can awake to another day to the most evil, corrupt president in US history. He has destroyed everything I have loved and believed in all these years. He is a cancer on our country. And he is getting away with all of it.

And although this is a tough time, there will be a regeneration at some point. That will hopefully address problems of the past such as weaknesses in our governance, healthcare, and much more.

Calamity and change have happened throughout history. It's not "normal" compared to 10 years ago, but the world and the US have experienced bad leadership throughout history. We will get through this. People will get hurt physically and financially. But at some point, the world will move onto something else. It's not meant to be dismissive. The current phase is very serious. But it will change again.

And nobody gets away with everything. He will die, and what he has done will eventually be repaired. It will take a long time and many of us, including me, probably won't live long enough to see it. But Germany recovered from Hitler and the Nazis and we can recover from Trump and MAGA.

There will be a massive funeral with all the pageantry. Those who died under his "leadership", through his mishandling of covid, his ill begotten wars, those who died due to lack of health insurance because they could no longer afford the cost of care, those who suffered due to his extraordinary lack of empathy - the list goes on.

He will never be subject to the pain and torture he has caused.

And nobody gets a funeral, even a fancy one, unless they are dead, so I will regard his fancy state funeral, if there is one, as a celebration of his death. And real justice of the eye-for-an-eye sort will never be possible. He has done far more damage than can be balanced by any suffering he might endure. He could be waterboarded or racked or flogged every day for the rest of his life and it wouldn't make up for the horrendous harm he's caused. So all we can hope for now is that the Grim Reaper gets busy soon and Satan takes him home before he starts WWIII.

That said, I think I’d probably want to watch ALL the coverage. Take it all in. I’m not working anymore, so why not?

It’s an act of defiance to simply exist and wait for the chance to nudge our world towards better times in the future. To survive.

See you tomorrow.

And one I mean to start incorporating into my world view immediately. I'm one of those on the bitter edge of despair, wishing I could escape all the cruelty and worry.

That's what I tell myself every single day. Do what you need to do to take care of yourself. Stay as strong as you can and let it out when you need to. That's how you STAY strong.

Like you, when I wake up first thing in the morning, I remember that he's still in power. And it just about kicks my ass every morning. But I'm trying to stay strong and fight back where I can and where I'm able. One of those way is to hate the sonofabitch and all who have enabled him. I refuse to 'go high' because I realized a long time ago that they are so different from any of us with an ounce of caring that there is no purpose in trying to redeem them. Their basic makeup, the DNA in their cells, is foreign to the rest of us.

I'm not a hateful person. In fact, I'm an animal rescuer and pretty compassionate usually. But I have my limit with stupidity and anyone who voted for him the first time was an idiot. Anyone who voted for him a second time is a co-conspirator.
