Contrary to his claims, he is not a fixer. He's not mature enough to admit his mistakes, therefore, there is nothing to fix. He will runaway, maybe not for good but maybe a tour of his golf courses, maybe campaigning if anybody will have him. He needs to scurry off to lick his wounds. He most assuredly has been wounded. I'm looking forward to more photos of his head hanging down as he walks alone.

(3,871 posts)While some in his administration are probably salivating at a long drawn out conflict, t is so over it. To him it's a t.v. episode. It should have been over and done by day two or three. He is probably wondering why nobody is following his script, especially the Iranians. Never mind he's the only who has a script. This t.v. episode is done, that's a wrap, folks.

(80,849 posts)As long as he is making money, and he has a group of adoring MAGAs, he will be fine.

(2,452 posts)I understand your frustration. November and January are two battles in this war. I've respected posts of yours that I've read. You bring the anger and energy that is needed. I hope you're well.
To quote a good man that recently passed,
"KEEP HOPE ALIVE"
Rev. Jesse Jackson. Rest in peace.

(80,849 posts)I assure you it has nothing to do with my personal feelings.
I am not frustrated, I have accepted that the US has gone to the dark side.
The battle between good and evil is the iconic human condition.
This man is a ruthless, brutal narcissistic psychopath.
And he has a following and power.
Many US intuitions bow down to him
Mental health professionals have warned the public about him for years.
It is a clinical diagnosis with a certain, guaranteed behavior pattern.
The mental health community understands that people want to deny reality,
do happy talk and pretend Trump and the MAGAs are harmless.
It is 50/50 whether we will have free elections this year.
This is based on data, facts, reality.
Reality is sometimes a steep learning curve.
People have to learn things the hard way.

(4,065 posts)Will never admit they made a mistake. Remember Ws awkward silence when asked if hed made any mistakes near the end of his term?
Im not trying to diminish the absolute cluster f-ck this orange makeup wearing bastard just made, has made, and will continue to make, but hes not doing anything different that others of his kind have done before him.

(2,452 posts)Senator Kaine recently admitted he made a mistake when voting for Noem's confirmation. Many Republican politician's have seen the error of their ways and either gone against the Felon, quit the party or gone so far as to switch parties. President Biden admitted he was wrong for not supporting Clarence Thomas's accuser, Anita Hill during the confirmation hearings. John Kerry expressed regret and apologized for his role in the Vietnam War. Gavin Newsome apologized for not following Covid protocol and attending a crowded dinner party. I once heard Bill Clinton say one of his biggest regrets was not stopping the genocide in Rwanda.
True, you did say most politicians. I guess I would say most Republicans and some Democrats.

(42,996 posts)When they are big enough to admit a mistake. We all make them.
You have a good memory! Great examples!
Buddyzbuddy
(2,452 posts)asked me how I could vote for Kerry who apologized.
I also told him I couldn't believe he had a photo of Bush in the office after he lied us into a war.
Never saw him again, the chiropractor.

(9,187 posts)Do they learn from the mistake or just keep making them? Will said Democrats vote for the next piece of trash Trump puts up? All signs point to yes.

(11,161 posts)Because his criminal buddy Bibi egged him on. This could turn out to be the worst US foreign policy mistake made since Vietnam. We are rapidly becoming the pariah of the world. Waiting for a new congress next January to stop him isn't going to work. Putin is loving every second of it.
Buddyzbuddy
(2,452 posts)I think "waiting for a new Congress" is not exactly what everybody is doing. Lawyers and Courts are doing their jobs. Tariffs have been ruled illegal, some compromising Epstein files have been released, some Ice detainees have been released, some politicians are speaking out loudly, righteously and at risk of arrest in some cases. And finally, the American voters are prominently protesting in large numbers at the risk of arrest.
Is everything perfect? No. Are we doing what we can within the law? I say, probably.
The very most that we can do is yes, wait. Wait for November to make the biggest protest against this illegal government in the most Constitutionally permitted way we can, VOTE!!!
If you have a better solution, please, I'm all ears.
