The words "Minnesota" or "ICE" don't appear anywhere here.
Forgetting Minnesota/ICE ... Schumer appears to be making a choice.

(5,060 posts)American cities is not a good choice. Yes economics is almost always the #1 issue at the ballot box, but I think the increasing authoritarianism by tsf and his enablers, is starting to resonate with more people, and to just ignore it, seems like it will hurt the party more than help it.

Unbelievable.

Hey Joe
(436 posts)our civil rights due to the actions of ICE. We need younger, stronger voices in our party who have the stamina and courage to stand up to these Nazis or this will be a long slide into totalitarianism.
Or maybe a short one.

(630 posts)Hopeful centrists who think the midterms are in the bag if they can just tamp down the criticism might wanna think about leaving the DU bubble and take careful note of the pulse on the street.
It's not good.
It's very angry.
And not just at the Republicans.

And I've voted for him every time. I actually feel bad about that.

(1,688 posts)He has to go. Preferably replaced by AOC.
I've disliked him as a politician for many years.
So you say, "He's done some good." Well, that's his job!

(7,282 posts)Like "if you knew X, would that make you more or less likely to vote for (our guy)"
My initial statement was that I would vote for the person fighting ICE (who was not their guy). The only statement to which I answered that it would make me more likely to vote for their guy was he would fight ICE and the federal government.
At the end they asked me if I had anything else to say. I told them FUCK ICE and I would only vote for a candidate who is 100% in on abolishing ICE, period.
You have to communicate this shit clearly to the centrist Dems. If you want our votes in a primary, you had better be talking about putting Greg Bovino in prison and firing every demented fascist that's put on the goofy uniforms.

(2,816 posts)How much money did the DNC or its satellite offices spend on conducting that poll. How much money lined the pockets of fancy people in nice suits to construct and disseminate that poll.
How much time was spent in meetings parsing the data and trying to construct a narrative that conforms to the preexisting strategy of inertial opposition and uninspired framing.
How many responses were omitted or altered because they "won't play well with the Baileys".
How many gdamn fundraising texts did it take to finance that poll.
How many votes were lost because people are sick of treading water while our neighbors drown.
Sigh.
We will win!

(475 posts)He seems to be avoiding the hot buttons that will get the focus on those wonky talking points.
He seems weak and unconcerned and out-of-touch.
He seems not to realize that people are PISSED OFF anyway and he wants to avoid being objectionable.
I recognize his service but this is not his time.
We need the much-ballyhooed wartime lead - "consigliere," if you will.

(27,489 posts)Seriously, this is giving vibes of someone in 1938 Germany running against Der Führer and declaring that what the people of the Fatherland are really concerned about are the rising price of bratwurst and sauerkraut.
