Denmark, Greenland and the United States have a fundamental disagreement over the future of the territory in the North Atlantic, Lars Lokke Rasmussen, the Danish foreign minister, said on Wednesday after a White House meeting with top Trump administration officials.
The meeting in Washington hours after President Trump said the United States needs Greenland was the first among the three governments to discuss Mr. Trumps desire to buy or take the semiautonomous Danish territory.
Mr. Rasmussen and Vivian Motzfeldt, the Greenland foreign minister, met with Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Afterward, Mr. Rasmussen called the discussion frank and constructive even as he underscored that Denmark has no interest in changing the status quo.
Our perspectives continue to differ, he said. The president has made his view clear. And we have a different position.

(38,280 posts)Vance and Rubio could give a fuck about Greenland. They're just carrying out Hair Furor's orders.
If the PMs sought to understand the logic of Trump's "need" for Greenland, they weren't going to get it. There is no logic.

This was all done to feed Trump's ego and distract from his myriad failures. Not to mention the Epstein files.

The tell will be how Europe reacts over the next 72 hours. Because I promise you they will be talking to their EU counterparts about this meeting.
If you see more military mobilization from EU countries within the next 48 to 72 hours, you will know exactly how that meeting really went.
