I know people on Bsky know this but I hope it filters out: The feds are OCCUPYING the Twin Cities. This is a blockade, a siege. They are shutting down economic and civic activity. They are conducting "papers please" stops. They are criminalizing being a bystander/witness.

(2,918 posts)So Mango Mussolini can activate his all-encompassing "emergency powers" and declare martial law.
It's pretty plain to see IMHO.

(3,421 posts)Again and again I see people posting "don't give them an excuse to declare martial law! It's what they want!" First of all, I don't think they need an excuse. After all, they already just make up rationales for everything they do out of thin air. Also, I am not sure that they want there to be resistance. They seem to go after people where there is the least resistance. Besides, it looks to me as though we are already "there."

(3,421 posts)In the summer of 1970 I noticed a shift in what I was hearing from people. Many people started saying things like "you need to change yourself before you can change the world" and "be the change you want to see" and "change takes time" and "work from the inside" etc. There was an increased focus on personal lifestyle and a corresponding drop in political activism. This happened right after the Kent State shootings, and it seemed clear to me that people were motivated by fear and were just making up other plausible sounding reasons for leaving the resistance.
I don't blame people for being frightened, then and how. I do think we should be honest about it, though.

(28,716 posts)I think by now it's abundantly clear this regime is going to do whatever it wants and now worry about justification.

You're right. And like most bullies they choose the weakest to intimidate because they're terrified of resistance
I'd like to see these gutless wannabe warriors try to infiltrate City Heights (San Diego)

(6,699 posts)In order to get everyone to organize and pull in the same direction; the goal being, for all intents and purposes, a general strike. Americans have yet to decide whether they will allow themselves to be inconvenienced enough to fight for liberty over fascism. Its quite frustrating, and I do not understand.
