From Daily Kos:
To this point, Ive resisted the urge to label Trump, his administration, or his supporters as neo-Nazis or neo-Fascists. However, its getting harder and harder to resist the urge and maintain my sanity. Almost buried in the Gish Gallop of daily outrages, corruption, and incompetencies is this story reported in The Guardian (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jan/13/upenn-trump-jews-list) :
The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is demanding [University of Pennsylvania] turn over names and personal information about Jewish members of the Penn community as part of the administrations stated goal to combat antisemitism on campuses. But some Jewish faculty and staff have condemned the governments demand as a visceral threat to the safety of those who would find themselves identified because compiling and turning over to the government lists of Jews conjures a terrifying history, according to a press release put out by the groups lawyers.

(6,690 posts)I could tell you antisemitism is a cause that unites the far right and the far left. Its an ideology that comes in many different flavors. But I prefer right wing antisemitism because right wing antisemitism is fully transparent. They come right out with the jew hate. Left-wing antisemitism is full of intellectualized gaslighting.

(6,690 posts)... despite what the constitution says. I don't think it's that complicated.
It has gone way beyond terrible optics now. It used to be considered unspeakable to attack the military service of a man who was it literally a prisoner of war, like John McCain was, and he did that, and it didn't affect him at all.
Where of course a normal person would've said something like, while I honor John McCain's service to his country, I disagree with most of the things he's done since he's been a senator.

Anyone whose been keeping up with what Trump has been doing, with who he admires and aspires to be like, with comments he's made re Hitler, with the alarming parallels, with his calling neo-nazis very fine people, with the neo-nazis he surrounds himself with and the ideology of the hate groups who support him
know that Trump couldn't give a rat's ass about antisemitism. Or 'Christian persecution, or drug cartels, for that matter. It's all a fkn smokescreen.
And I'm glad some have recognized that fact.
