NJ-11: Way (D) picks up new support as part of 'Women for Tahesha Way' coalition
Lieutenant Gov. Tahesha Ways campaign for New Jerseys 11th congressional district will launch Women for Tahesha Way at an event in Montclair tomorrow, and the new coalition will have a few notable names at the helm.
Leading the coalition will be National Organization for Women New Jersey (NOW-NJ) President Jill LaZare, whose organization recently recommended that the national arm of NOW endorse Ways campaign; West Orange Councilwoman Tammy Williams; and Assemblywoman Linda Carter (D-Plainfield).
Also part of the coalition are Assemblywoman Cleopatra Tucker (D-Newark), political strategist Jeannine LaRue, former New Jersey Secretary of State Regena Thomas, Connecticut Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas, and Wayne Councilwoman Francine Ritter, whose support Way had already publicized over the holidays.
Tahesha Way has spent her career fighting for womens rights, reproductive freedom, and economic justice and shes delivered real results, LaZare said in a statement earlier this week. She stood up to Donald Trumps attacks on voting rights and won. Shes always fought with us and for us, listening to our challenges and working to build a better tomorrow for New Jerseys women.
