Anti-ICE protesters protest in front of Minneapolis hotel after fatal Renee Nicole Good shooting

Protesters marched through downtown Minneapolis and gathered outside hotels said to be housing federal agents on Friday (January 9) evening, setting off fireworks, banging pots and chanting anti-immigration enforcement slogans.

Some demonstrators played brass instruments and drums with many others using pots, pans, whistles and megaphones to stage a 'noise demonstration'.

The wave of protests in Minnesota and across the country was sparked after an ICE officer on Wednesday (January 7) fatally shot Renee Nichole Good, a U.S. citizen who according to one activist was participating in a "neighbourhood patrol" that observes ICE activities.

The two words are not synonymous.

I know the Independent has to gin up interest in its website with histrionics, but that doesn't mean we have to help them. If that's what I wanted to hear, I'd sign up for Truth Social.

The number of Gestapo in Germany was 32,000. The population was 70 million. That's one Gestapo for every 2,200 citizens.

The number of ICE agents is 20,000. The population of the US is 348 million. That's one ICE agent for every 17,000 citizens.

There are more of us.

Shutdown the country until Trump and his goons are ousted. It seems to be working in Iran.
