A lot of city police and traffic control were there to keep people out of the middle of Portland Ave., which is now partly open to traffic. The police were completely pleasant and cordial. There were a lot of people again, many Somalis, and they were handing out hot samosas again. A surprising number of media people, including NPR, CBS and MS NOW (saw the guy who's been reporting from the site since Wednesday) and others I didn't recognize. The memorials (flowers, signs, candles, sage) have grown considerably. No violence or hints of it at all, but the rhetoric was more intense than yesterday, frequent chants of FUCK ICE!. This isn't going away. People are sad but they are also angry.

Not sure about this character.

So many stories, so much life, so much suffering in those streets, so much Good.
