The question is though what are our elected officials going to do about it? No matter the letter after their name, we need to hold them to higher standards of accountability.
So, are they going to actually help or make speeches?
Because, I'm sorry, commenting on social media and long winded floor speeches are just another form of "thoughts and prayers" and exactly as about as helpful.
We need to expect more from all our elected officials and stop making excuses for milquetoast responses and pointless talking points.
I don't need someone to pat me on the head and validate my feelings. I need members of Congress to do their fucking jobs.
Do something productive or get the fuck out of the way for someone who will.

that isn't my job to figure that out. I'm tired of politicians shifting blame/effort onto citizens. Being an elected official is hard work, it's not all lobbyist lunches and PAC-funded vacations. Sometimes, at least sometimes, I expect them to figure it out on their own and if they can not then fucking quit and let your constituents elect someone that can.
I'm not a member of Congress so I am not fully versed in every possible option but doing nothing but make speeches isn't going to work for me anymore.
