The right wing family who owns the Pittsburgh Post Gazette has finally destroyed the once good paper. It will cease to

..exist in early May.

The employees were told today (at an unplanned meeting and told via a recorded message) that the paper will simply shut down in May.

I can't say for sure, but given the right wing ownership (Brock family in Toledo), I bet the family decided to go scorched Earth after they lost a long legal labor battle with the union.

It's been sad to see this paper's formerly solid editorial page turn into one that would endorse Orange Caligula, though still many good news reporters were there. And now, another piece of local news will be gone.

Maybe someone will swoop in and do something, but the Brock family hasn't indicated any type of sale and I think that is intentional.

They want to fuck the workers.

The fact that the Toledo Blade is not impacted puts a lie to Block's statement about how much money they are losing at the PG.

We shall see what new mayor O'Connor does.
