I am certainly NOT a sophisticated student of history,

But I am aware that certain widespread revolutions began when one individual or small group of people was murdered by the “authorities”. If I recall correctly, the Arab Spring initiated when a Tunisian street vendor set himself on fire to protest the hardships imposed by the authoritarian governments and it was like dominoes across the region.

Shooting this woman in her car may have been a grave error of similar proportions: we shall see. Of course, violently storming the Capitol building five years ago was insufficient in this regard but you never know what can bring down an authoritarian leader and his minions.

That is why the oligarchs are doing everything they can to destroy it here in America. With Trump, they have a willing idiot; and with MAGA they have a class of people too stupid to know better.

Sure, the economy sucks for most of us, but even a poorly distributed growing economy is enough to keep a lot of people wanting not to upset the apple cart.

Now if 401(k)s were losing money, sure.
