(58,315 posts)They knowingly accept enormous responsibilities for the well being of millions when they take the job.
Like all jobs, it requires a certain level of expertise. In my job, I don't expect the public to tell me how to treat a difficult patient. No sane person would think that would be how I should conduct myself in my job. No sane person would allow me to keep my job if I threw up my hands and said, "Let's see where the science is in two years. Maybe there'll be an easy solution then."
When I encounter problems and roadblocks in my job, I figure out a way to get around the problems and constraints I face. When the traditional path proves ineffective, I look outside the box, I try anything that might work. I figure out an answer.
I expect my representatives to approach their jobs in the same way. Otherwise, they are just exercising their egos and they are useless to all of us.
The tactics outlined in the video are not difficult. They are quite accessible. They don't require any intellectual superiority. They are simply slightly outside the box of how Democrats have traditionally behaved.
