A better frame than "lesser of two evils": We are proud Democrats!

I (somewhat) recently fell for a "trap". I argued online with someone who still somehow thinks they were right for sitting out the 2024 election. Honestly at this point maybe it's time to move on from past grievances and focus on the future with the exception of learning from our mistakes and doing better. But I'll admit something good came out of this discussion for me. I realize why am I accepting their frame that the Democrats are a lesser evil? Actually I really like and agree with what they stand for overall. Under Biden's leadership it was some of the best years of my life particularly 2023 and 2024. I didn't have to worry everyday about what the latest disaster is and it let me focus on improving myself.

So I say it's time to be proud Democrats instead of just saying we are the least-bad option. This is actually backed by research. I've been searching for this article but I read a good study that suggested to tell people who are undecided or kind of undecided but maybe lean towards Democrats good things about Biden (the study was I think done during his presidency so that's why it mentioned Biden) and it can make a big difference that way. It's a long time ago that I read this article so sadly I can't find it again.

Also I suggest not only being proud Democrats but using the concept of social proof https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_proof to encourage other people to vote. Imagine telling your friends that you made a plan to vote, you voted early and you voted a straight blue ticket and you felt good doing so and you share why you're personally passionate about voting and why you like the Democrats. Sharing personal experiences can be a powerful tool for change.

Also I came up with an alternative analogy to lesser of two evils that might help some of the more reluctant voters who don't agree with an issue or two but are on board overall:

Imagine voting Democrat as voting for a free fancy steak dinner but maybe the appetizer is your second choice like it's beans which you like to eat but you enjoy french fries more. But at the end of the day it's still an amazing dinner and all you need to do to get this is vote yes for it and if you don't vote for it you get the default option which is a poop sandwich from Republicans.

I don't know if this will work but it's just a thought I had.

Ultimately we have to remember that people are different and what works for one person might not work for another.
