question everything

During the past year I have often wondered whether we've been better off

whether he - hear me out, please - had won in 2020.

For a start, his term would be over.

No Jan 6 riots with all the disaster outcomes

No governing by revenge and retributions

ACA will not be in danger (I think)

He will not squeeze individuals and corporations for ransoms that went straight to his pockets

Thousands of Federal employees would not be in the streets

and just recently, he would not lead our 250 celebrations.

I don’t really know how much of Biden new laws are still on the books.

But, Ukraine would be part of the Soviet Union…

Just each day is getting worse and worse. Enough already!

1. We'd be in his third term now, so, probably not. We could have gotten nuked as well by now. No way to know

Biden should have run in 2016, though I know his stated reasons for not running and this is not to criticize. He was the heir apparent, Obama's VP.

Trump would not be on a vengeance tour. So retribution would be harder to sell.

Would Trump have run for a 3rd term? No, I don't think so. It would have been expected he retire. But we'd be worse off. Biden did accomplish some things, if only to remind us of normality and strengthen our resolve. The left, and Democrats, are stronger for it. The GOP is faltering and elects narrow majorities that barely function. That says something.

absolutely painful and and bankrupting and heartbreaking for a large swath of the country if we are going to come out the other side with the national will to prevent it from ever happening again.

As you say, maybe things are worse because he lost in 2020. To which I say, sadly, that is probably necessary for any rising from the ashes in the long run.

The problem is, I think it's a razor's edge of whether we do rise from the ashes or we do not.

At least we would have better healthcare, social security and less billionaires.
