CBS's decay extends to Sunday Morning.

I just started watching the episode I recorded this morning, which opened with the Venezuela attack. Not one word in the intro about the illegality of it. Talking about nothing at all except how it was carried out. Needless to say I deleted that episode from my recordings, and don't know if I'll bother to record it in the future.

So sad that this program that has been a huge and important phenomenon for more than 50 years with great ratings has turned into a meaningless Entertainment Tonight wannabe.

…. Russiagate. He did that less than a month after the White House’s “peace plan” for Russia’s war on
Ukraine was shown to be a direct translation from Russian to English.

Somewhere Eric Sevareid’s soul is crying. Eric was a hero to me years ago. His book Canoeing with
the Cree made an impression on me in my 20s. He and a High School Friend canoed from Minneapolis
to Hudson’s Bay after their Sr. year. If I remember right he was the American in Paris as the Nazis
marched in.

America doesn't have Reality based Newscasters.. no More.

I remember seeing Harry Reasner in a restaurant, in Asheville, NC, I worked in back in the early 70s. I was so happy to see him there.

Interesting about Eric Sevareid and Canoeing.. TY!

I cancelled all my M$M in November 2002. Bye

I watched 60 minutes even as a little guy with Mike, Morley, Harry, Ed and the rest, then came of age with Dan Rather, then Katie Couric, then Scott Pelley. CBS Sunday Mornings was a favorite for decades. I don't bother with any of it any more since they rolled over to play dead. How the mighty have fallen.

But I just couldn't believe what I was hearing this morning. I'd much prefer they'd just left that story alone.

I am the Internet politics nerd in our home -- we are in our 80's, wife is not tech-oriented and does not want to be. She is not aware of the Bari Weiss - CBS mess.

So -- this morning she sat down to watch CBS Sunday Morning. She turned it off after watching their Venezuela segment -- "They must think this was a good thing!!" Click.

First of all, I don't see a time frame, i.e. from when to now.

Beyond (much beyond) that, an increase in ratings of, for example, 1111% for CBS would mean they had an increase of viewers from around 100,000 to 1.1 million. I don't see people changing their viewing habits so dramatically, especially with well-established networks that have been around forever.

Did I get this wrong?

Thanks!

There are other links to network ratings on the internet as well to cross reference, if needed.

I'm not sure what your quire is. I don't know any more than what the link has stated for their findings of network ratings.

Have a good day.
