Immigration isn't my driving concern in life. Everyone here should be here legally, one way or another. Employers should be punished for hiring them.
However, I'm not approving of using it as excuse for needless cruelty. Our current ICE policy seems based on treating people as animals to be rounded up, branded, and sent to the stockyards.
I was surprised to see the airbase near me is a main hub for such deportations. Detainees are sent here by unmarked white buses to be boarded on a Eastern Air 737, then sent to Alexandria Louisiana and to a main detention center where they're processed and sent south of the border. It often went to another hub in Indianapolis to pick up more.
KYNG is convenient for this duty because unlike Cleveland Hopkins or Pittsburgh, it's an air base with a long military runway that's closed to protesters. No one would notice. ...I did.
How do I know this? Most evenings while I'm on the 'net I check https://www.flightaware.com/ to see the air traffic flying around me. Thursday night I noticed a Boeing 737 approaching YNG to land. I knew it was a government flight because of it's call sign: "Tyson57". C130s here have a similar call sign but I never noticed this one so I did some research. This is what I found:
Key Aspects of Alexandria as a Deportation Hub:
Central Location: Louisiana's geography and existing infrastructure make it an efficient staging area for deportations.
Extensive Detention Network: The airport is surrounded by numerous ICE detention centers within a 100-mile radius, holding thousands of detainees.
On-Tarmac Facilities: The airport has unique holding areas directly on the tarmac, allowing for rapid boarding and deportation.
High Volume of Flights: Alexandria handles more deportation flights than almost any other U.S. location, according to reports.
Process: Detainees, often in chains, are transported from detention centers to the airport for boarding charter flights to countries in Latin America, with medical and security personnel on board.
In essence, Alexandria, Louisiana, functions as a critical logistical center for ICE's large-scale removal operations, facilitating the deportation of immigrants from across the country.
Key Details:
Operator: Eastern Air Express (a charter airline).
Aircraft: Typically a Boeing 737.
Purpose: Charters for ICE, often involving deportations, to avoid public tracking.
Call Sign Origin: The "Tyson" name is rumored to be a nod to Donald Trump's personal flights but is now widely used by ICE for these operations.

Sometimes when Im out and about and I see low planes flying to or from that direction I wonder if they are full of detainees. It gives me a creepy feeling.
