I'm.glad it wasn't fake - we've seen too many fake quotes posted in memes here - but you won't know it wasn't fake unless you know the source and can check the quote, word by word.

It isn't hard to search for the source of a meme. You just need the person's name and a distinctive phrase or sentence from the quote. In this case I searched for

"jon stewart" "shit where you eat"

and found an article including the quote, and video of that program, here:

https://deadline.com/2025/12/jon-stewart-venezuela-boat-strikes-iraq-war-the-daily-show-1236643055/

That was on the first page of search results, the third result on the page. Took just a couple of minutes.

And that quote is even better with the context, and especially with video.
